In the early years a mind grows by leaps and bounds. It is a time of new discoveries that set the course for a lifelong learning process. Head Start realizes this and takes its role of developing these young minds very seriously.

We work on:

Early Literacy and Reading
Math and Numbers
Physical and Motor Skills
Relationship Skills
Language and Speech
and Much More!

Our teachers and family support staff continuously receive ongoing training and support to make sure that incredible development results are possible for each child. If a child has a disability, we work one-on-one with family and child to again give that child and family a 'head start' on the lifelong learning process.

Children's developmental needs must be addresed at the earliest stage possible to ensure school readiness. We facilitate weekly early childhood development activities with children and parents through the Parents As Teachers and other early learning models.

Twice a year, children receive a comprehensive screening to signal any possible delays. When delays are noted, staff work to address and make referrals to Child & Family Connections for further assessment.

We individualize each child's education to his or her developmental level through our early childhood curricula.

Overview of child development services includes:

    • Age appropriate early childhood activities at each home visit
    • Child development assessments twice a year
    • Referrals for other community services, when appropriate
    • Strong emphasis on literacy

All staff are certified Parent As Teachers educators.
